Ogun Festival

Honouring the god of iron, valour and industry

The Ogun Festival is one of Ijero's most sacred observances — a communal remembrance of Ogun, the deity of iron, warriors, hunters, farmers and craftsmen. Priests, chiefs and community members converge with palm fronds, drums, and traditional invocations to honour ancestors and bless the town's tools, roads and livelihoods for the year ahead.

Annual Ijero Cultural Festival

A grand celebration of heritage, unity and progress

Ajero's Palace grounds & Ijero township, Ekiti State

The Annual Ijero Cultural Festival brings together indigenes at home and in the diaspora for a week-long celebration of Ijero's identity. Anchored by the Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti, the festival features royal parades, cultural pageantry, youth showcases, homecoming galas and a community development summit organised in partnership with IYDF.
